Young People’s Built Environment Assembly

Newham

The Newham Youth Assembly was a borough-wide built environment assembly that took place during the Covid-19 pandemic. The assembly aimed to listen to young people representing different parts of the borough about their experience growing up in Newham.

Held outside due to social distancing, at the event 36 young people spoke about their experiences within their community. Young people then worked together to propose actions to improve the built environment for young people locally and across the borough.

The event was run in collaboration with The Terence Brown Arc in the Park, The Glyn Hopkin Abbey Hub, Beckton Globe Youth Zone, Rosetta Arts, Shipman Youth Zone, The Cumberland School, Forest Gate Youth Zone and the Youth Empowerment Service SEND Participation Group.
