Parkour

Tottenhall Recreation Ground is a park located in Enfield in northeast London. Recently, the Friends of Tottenhall Recreation Ground formed as a group of local residents with the aim of improving the park for everyone.

The Friends felt that there was not enough provision for young people, and that as a community, they needed to provide more for young people in the park. Build Up was given an open brief in terms of the location of the project, and worked with 90 young people from the local primary school to develop a space where young people could hang out, perform, and spend time.

The design was inspired by parkour, with each element aiming to create places where young people could both socialise and practise parkour.
