In 2025, People Empowerment Alliance for Custom House (PEACH) and the E16 Community Land Trust (E16 CLT) secured the lease for a former youth centre. After years of being treated as a dumping ground, the space had fallen into disrepair.

Build Up worked in partnership with PEACH and E16 CLT to bring the garden back to life, and the first step was to create a new local community centre. Working closely with a committed group of local residents, the team developed a design brief and young people then created a project design.  

Volunteers and council teams came together to clear a huge amount of rubbish from the site, and in May half term young people returned to restore the garden mosaics and create a new shelter and seating.
