Paid Project Placements

Placement 2 application Extended to 28/4/19

Join the Build Up Hackney team to support local young people to have a say over change in their area and build a new public space at Flanders Way. We’re looking to recruit a local 18-23 year old who knows the area well to join the project team and ensure young people’s voices are heard.

The role will involve:

  • Working with the Build Up Hackney team to ensure young people’s views on their local area are heard before, during and after the project
  • Motivating and engaging young people (aged 10-14) in project activities
  • Speaking on behalf of the project to local residents and businesses
  • Documenting young people’s involvement in the project and recording feedback from the local community
  • Attending meetings for and on behalf of Build Up Hackney
  • Shadowing Hackney Quest staff members in their work advocating for young people’s rights

The placement would suit someone interested in gaining experience in youthwork, youth rights or community engagement. However, previous experience is not essential.
